Youth Wrestling Program Overview

 

Grapple Dawgz!

Ages: 5–17 years
Skill Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Program Duration: 8-week sessions, year-round availability with seasonal camps and clinics

Winter: November 1st-February 28th
Location:  wrestling gymnasium

Age Groups and Skill Levels

  • Lil Grapplers (Ages 5–7): Introduction to basic wrestling movements and body control.

  • Junior Wrestlers (Ages 8–12): Emphasis on technique and conditioning, with scrimmage opportunities.

  • Varsity Prep (Ages 13–17): Advanced techniques, in-depth strategy, and competition training.

Weekly Schedule

  • Training Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday

  • Session Length: 1-hour sessions for ages 5–7, 1.5-hour sessions for ages 8–12, 2-hour sessions for ages 13–17.

  • Sample Session Breakdown:

    • Warm-up (15 minutes): Stretching, agility drills, and light cardio.

    • Technique Drills (30–45 minutes): Technique practice, skill drills.

    • Conditioning (15–30 minutes): Strength, endurance, and flexibility exercises.

    • Sparring/Mock Matches (last 15–30 minutes): Controlled sparring for skill application.
